September 15th is the birthday of honourable sir MV. Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was born on september 15 in 1861. While he was 15 years old visvesvaraya lost his father. He completed BA in madras university in 1881 and later joined civil engineering in pune. After completing his engineering he joined directly assistant engineer in public works department in Bombay and later joined indian irrigation commission. He was famous internationally for his patent for automatic weir flood gates and successful construction of initially many dams in india. He was also appointed as dewan of mysore.
Sir mokshagundam visvesvaraya was honoured by bharat ratna in 1955.
